#stellasreno

We're (99%) done!

We want to thank everyone that helped us make the reno possible. Stella is already asking to move her bedroom downstairs despite the fact that we had planned to wait 3 or 4 years. While no project is ever perfect we are VERY happy with the way it turned out. We have posted a video below along with some pictures. If anyone has any questions about the reno PM us and we can give you some detail. – Myles

#stellasreno Episode 1 - the "before" preview

The POD is here!

OK. It’s happening! The bank loan is signed, the technical drawings are done, the permits have been submitted, and contractor has his deposit. But what makes this feel REAL is there is a 11′ pod sitting in my driveway.

Myles and I spent all day Saturday and Sunday filling the bin with the contents of our basement. Its amazing what we’ve moved from home to home to home, and what accumulates after 4 years! We did take a load to dump, as well as several trips to donate useable goods but we still managed to FILL the pod!

Oliver pitched in and Stella is flipping through the Ikea catalogue as we speak ready to fill it up again 😉

Stay tuned for videos and photos as the space transforms!

Thank you for visiting #stellasreno page. You can follow our journey from 1960’s unfinished basement through to a fully accessible bathroom, bedroom and elevator for our girl. We are so excited to transform the space from cinderblock, exposed ceiling, and plywood floor to drywall, fresh paint, plank vinyl flooring and nice wide doors to allow Stella the freedom to fully live in our home. Our deadline is tight! Only 8-10 weeks as Stella will be having major back surgery this spring. We hope this renovation will improve the whole families quality of living – give us space to play, rest, and take care of Stella safely for years to come. We have planned, and revised and planned some more. This space is designed to meet our needs now, and grow with us as Stellas needs change and increase.
